The triennial election cycle is upon us again with a postal ballot for the new amalgamated Auckland City, its new super mayor, 20 councillors and a raft of local boards, including the Waiheke Island one.
The local elections on our island are usually good fun and good-natured since everybody knows everybody and hardly any new information about candidates is revealed since some of them have been around for ages.
New islanders may want to brush up on the 2007 Waiheke election here.
This year a deluge of 17 candidates are running for the 5 seats on our board, including Ewen, so I trust you will tick the appropriate box next to his name.
