Excellent reportage on the OneWaiheke site of the installation of the new Waiheke Local Board.
The Mayor, Len Brown, got a hugely warm welcome - not surprising since he won Waiheke by about 80% of the votes. But our new Councillor Mike Lee and his colleague Cathy Casey got ovations too.
We left the hall after symbolically seconding Denise Roche's nomination to become Board chair, and we left them to it for a well-deserved bevvy at the local hostelry.
The videos give a good picture of the atmospherics in the meeting hall. It was obvious the Mayor had a memorably grand day out on Waiheke!
