As if you needed further proof that god is dead and football has taken her place, adidas paid for this fresco to be painted on the roof of Cologne train station, to celebrate the world cup soccer finals. I can see this catching on as a trend to brighten up the retractable roofs over the stadiums, now that they are considered the new cathedrals. Michelangelo would have approved, even though a few more ignudi wouldn't have gone amiss.Picture via Towleroad.
