Waiheke Island election night results

These are the results of the party votes in the polling booths on Waiheke Island on election night:

If this was a First past the post system, the Tories would rule with a bare minimum of votes as the main opposition is basically split down the middle. But since we have proportional representation the 64% non-National vote isn't wasted.
National's vote share is 7% below the electorate's average, Labour is about what they got in the rest of Auckland Central, but the Green vote really shows that Waiheke is an environmentally aware place: over a quarter of Waihekeans voted Green compared to just over 1 in 5 in Auckland C, which itself is double the NZ Green vote share.
Almost 10% for NZF obviously reflects the elderly vote and they haven't forgotten their supergold card bribe at the last election.

The electorate race was completely irrelevant: all three main candidates, Nikki Kaye, Jacinda Ardern and Denise Roche have all been elected to parliament.
